JOSH MARCHESINI
WRITER, PRODUCER, ARTSWORKER
TKARÓN:TO / TORONTO

000ABOUT ME

Josh Marchesini is a writer, artsworker and emerging producer based in Tkarón:to.

With five years of experience in arts & culture, he works within a results-oriented, needs-based approach to support artistic projects. Josh has worked with a variety of organizations both in theatre and the visual arts to execute effective strategies in fundraising, producing, marketing and social media.

While he got his start in marketing/communications volunteering for a charity fashion club in university, his experience in combining communications and the arts enables him to deliver on comprehensive campaigns. When he’s away from his desk, you can find him listening to a new album or watching reality TV reruns. He brings a particular focus on contextualization across the projects he engages in (he loves a good pop culture reference!), taking time to develop a thorough understanding of the space and tone in which artsworkers and artists operate within.

Josh holds a Graduate Certificate in Arts Administration & Cultural Management at Humber College, a BA in Art History from McGill University and has participated in mentorships with Race & Disability Canada and Toronto Fringe. He is an alum of Our Bodies, Our Stories, an interdisciplinary creation and arts leadership program facilitated by Kama La Mackerel.

As a queer Salvadoran-Canadian, born and raised in the working class neighbourhood of Rexdale, Josh is eager to work on artistic projects that centre Latine perspectives, transcend borders, disruption, queer joy and works with a particular focus on chisme (Spanish for “gossip”) in the art world.
